Static Pressure

Pressure on a confined system with no water flowing.

Head Pressure

Pressure shown on compound gauge while water is being discharged.

Residual Pressure

Pressure of water remaining in main with water flowing or at the intake of the pump with water being discharged.

Friction Loss

FL is a measure of the amount of energy used up by the movement of water through a hose line.

Head of Elevation

HE or E is a measure of the height to which water must or may be raised or,vice versa, the height of water available to supply energy to overcome resistance.
